SPORT PARQUET TUNISIA

Recent installation of two major Sport Halls in Tunisia

SPORT HALL Haouaria: Sport Parquet Floor 1.200 sqm2 - up to 1.500 spectators - will be used for official games. In the inauguration pictures His Excellence Juichi TAKAHARA (Ambassador of Japan), His Excellence Mr. Mohamed Akremi HAMDI, Governer of Nabeul and Dr. Férid BEN FADHEL, President of Municipality of El Haouaria.

The total amount of the renovation project was 170 000 Dinars, and helped renovate the only sport hall of the Municipality with the installation of a nwe SPORTS PARQUET FLOORS. The multi-sport hall is a multi functional sports area, regularly hosting National women's volleyball team during summer training camp. The purpose of this project is to give El Haouaria's athletes the chance to practice their activities more easily - on all levels and in all categories - in a pleasant facility without the risk of injuries, as well as to promote their way of life and sports abilities.

As host of Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020, Japan is increasing its cooperation and exchanges in sports with all countries worldwide, as for the current project.

This cooperation between the Embassy of Japan in Tunisia and the local organizations fits in this framework of aid, granted by Japan Government through help for local micro-projects with the aim of a direct reply to Tunisian market demands.

Ouardia Sport Hall is a training facility, it will be used for basketball and volleyball; the surface is 800 m2, and right after the inauguration it has become a reference for the local teams, who appreciate the excellent flexibility of model SPLUGA and its light color, that has immediately enhanced the entire facility.

Sport Parquet Vintage

Cremona, a Seicom "Vintage" Sport-Parquet-Floors manufactured in 1968 is today still used by teams to play basketball.

This Sport Parquet Floor has been sanded several times. The sport facility has been renovated in 2009, roof re-built, but the Parquet is still the original one dated 1968, manufactured and installed by our Company.

Model BORMIO, pre-fabricated portable system consisting of fir wood from Valtellina has been manufactured by Seicom between 1968 and 1980, and it's still present today in many sports facilities in Italy.  Nowadays fir wood is no longer used for parquet floors, since it's considered as a soft species, subject to movements, resins, a poor wood of low commercial value, but in the 60s/70s - when gyms were mainly supplied with rubber or PVC - the solution offered by Seicom consisting of Portable Panels FIBA approved made of fir wood was a real vanguard. Then portable floors have become a more and more popular choice and they began to use more noble wood species such as maple, oak, beech and then to approach high value tropical species such as hevea rubber wood.

Sports Floors for gym Catas certificate

As from Seicom is associated with CATAS Laboratory - learning more all parquet elements, understanding their chemical and physical characteristics will definitely give an added value to the tested and certified Sports Parquet Floor our Company will supply to project managers and end users.

 CATAS is the Italian Institute for certification, research and testing within wood-furniture field and center of excellence for research in agro-food, industrial and environmental sector as well.

Seicom always believed in certifications and laboratory testing in order to market valid and guaranteed products for SPORTS PARQUET FLOOR end users.

Sports Parquet Floors elements made of Hevea Rubber Wood are showing excellent results while tested; Seicom, since ever supporting the great flexibility and stability features of this fantastic tree, is collecting exciting results. As per the latest testing procedures performed in laboratory, Hevea Rubber Wood parquet proved to have great static hardness (Janka) and excellent resistance to indentation (Brinell) when strictly tested. Now all values can be compared with other wood species such as beech, oak, maple, etc.

As per recent testing, it shows that Hevea Rubber Wood parquet obviously has a very low radial & tangential shrinkage if compared to beech or oak; the radial and tangential swelling is very low too. These values officially certify that Hevea species can be used also on large surfaces without fear of humidity or abnormal swelling typical of other wood species. Given the results of these tests, we can certainly say that HEVEA parquet can be suggested or even better recommended in places with Radiant Floor Heating, more and more used even in sports facilities and combined with Sports Parquet Floors.

 We are currently subjecting SPORTS FLOORS FOR GYMS to very strict and invasive tests in order to set their use even in extreme situations, when subjected to considerable loads of bending and twisting. 

SEICOM PARQUET FLOORS have been also submitted to chemicals such as ammonia, oil, grease and ink to assess the strength and possible damages; tests have been performed as per regulation: "Determination of chemical resistance EN 13442:2013". 

Understanding the damage caused by chemicals will help us create valid cleaners to fix any damage caused by adhesive, glue or acid elements such as ammonia. The ordinary upkeep and cleaning data sheet by Seicom will remarkably improve and will report only certified data in order to provide valid and detailed information to all end users.

FIBA Sports Parquet Floors 2015

New rules for FIBA certified products

As from 2015 FIBA sports parquet floors will be safer and more guaranteed.  

As from 1st January 2015 all FIBA certified products must be covered with liability insurance policy for a value not lower than 3.000.000 CHF.

Only Companies in possession of this insurance will sign the new contract and will therefore be FIBA certified for the period 2015 – 2016.

This further standard will definitely certify safer products recommended by FIBA for sports facilities. In 2012 SEICOM had already signed a liability insurance policy and a products insurance policy with ALLIANZ , who works on international level.

The "Products liability insurance policy" signed by Seicom covers all civil risks that may occur due to damage or subsidence of the sports parquet floor due to manufacture defects.

 Thanks to this remarkable installation our Company enters the huge and important Russian market with a leading role. Other smaller projects had been accomplished in the past, but this is definitely the most important reference.

This Portable Floor is our model BORMIO, a floor that's been used for over twenty years so far for big multi functional sport halls.

In 2004 the Portable Floor Parquet model BORMIO starred at the final Olympic game in Greece; in 2007 won first division volley with Yamamay in Italy; in 2008 it was installed in Cantù at Palapianella for the Italian first division; in 2009 starred in Nigeria for the main arena of Benua State, in 2010 in Zambia for the Afrian Cup and in 2013 in Hungary with 1.800 sq m we supplied in Nyíregyháza for Hungarian First Division.

Two more portable floors made by Seicom are currently in progress and will be used in ZIMBABWE for the African Union Sports Council Region V Under 20 Youth Games.

The portable parquet floor model BORMIO is completely manufactured by our company, in every single element, it's a very robust floor, suitable in case of frequent removal and re-installation; this system comes from many years of research and constant technical improvement. Sports parquet floor model BORMIO is certifried according to EN 14904, FIBA, CE MARK.
